Notifications and Comments

Learn how to use Commenting in Nova to place notes directly on the map, tag teammates, and attach photos, so aerial crews, ground units, and management can all follow the conversation in one place. Unlike PubSub, Nova’s real-time chat, comments are saved and stay pinned to the exact location they’re about.

Creating a Comment

Select Comment from the top section of your screen.

Place Your Comment

Click anywhere on the map to drop your comment at that location.

Editing Comments

Write Your Comment

Type your note in the comment box. There’s no character limit, so add as much or as little detail as you need.

Add Emojis

Select the emoji icon in the bottom-left corner of the comment box to add a quick reaction or visual marker.

Tag Teammates

Select the @ button to tag other users in your workspace. Tagged users are notified and can jump straight to the comment on the map.

Tip: Tag the specific person who needs to act on a finding rather than relying on the team to spot it.

Attach Photos

Attach photos to your comment to provide extra context, which is especially helpful when describing evidence or ground conditions.

Notifications

Find Your Comments

Select the Bell Icon in the top right corner of your screen

The notification panel will appear on the right side of your screen. View all comments and threads, including anything you’ve been tagged in.

Select a comment to navigate straight to it on the map and reply within the thread

Delete a Comment

Select the 3 dots within the comment thread.

Select Delete Comment
